Supervisor – Marine Operations – Aramco Gulf Operations

Assists in the development and implementation of section policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.

Supervises the day-to-day operations Marine Operations Section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards and procedures.

Supervises the Controllers activities on the entry and exit of vessels through channel, inner harbor traffic and marine traffic between offshore oil field platforms and the port, and berthing at South/North Jetty, in accordance with Company, national and international maritime rules to ensure that proper communications are relayed to the respective captains of the boat.

Provides instruction to subordinates to prepare a boat operation schedule and reviews allocation to ensure appropriate timetable are properly set and followed.

Provides launch-hire service to transport local officials and agent representatives for quarantine and clearance to ensure that passengers are properly documented and transported to requested location.

Arranges harbor permits from Coast Guard for third-party boats arriving at the port to ensure proper documentations are finalized and cleared for berthing.

Notifies accounting department for billing to shipping agents for port and other miscellaneous charges to ensure proper payments are received on time.

Supervises the inspection of navigation buoys and other facilities along the channel, port, harbour, and sea lanes to ensure that they are on their proper places and working properly.

Prepares and sends work requisitions to maintenance departments, if repair, maintenance or reconditioning are needed to ensure continuous provision of services.

Supervises subordinate in inspecting communication equipment, accommodation, and life-saving equipment (e.g. life jacket or lifeboat) of Company and chartered boats to ensure all standards and regulations are properly observed.

Coordinates marine craft registration with Ministry of Communication for the Company boats to ensure that all boats are properly registered on a timely manner.

Gathers, maintains and communicates latest information on national and international port and marine regulations and related notices to ensure that all concerned are properly notified.

Investigates marine accidents, and reports to superintendent immediately. Makes recommendations on necessary actions and precautionary measures to avoid recurrence, as requested.

Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate departmental reports which conform to Company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Assists in the preparation of the Marine Operations Section budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.

Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets.

Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures in the section in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
