General Function : To provide full range of in-house legal services and manage required legal support for selected countries in Middle East and Africa.

2. Responsibilities

2.1. Management Functions

• Responsible for legal funtion in relevant territories as assigned to you by your manager and provision of legal support to all groups

• Independent handling of major tasks, business and improvement projects

• Continuous interface with local management

• Close liaison with Business Practices and Contract Specialist organisations

• Develop relationships with external lawyers

• Engagement of external lawyers as required

• Provide training and updates to other departments as necessary

• Implementing legal policies and business practices

• Co-ordination of legal services within the relevant groups and functions

• Liason with Oracle executives to establish work priorities for legal

2.2 Legal Functions

• Draft, vet and negotiate major or complex non-standard agreements

• Localize model standard agreements/clauses

• Advise the Business on structure of contractual relationship, including appropriate documents to use

• Respond to adhoc queries, providing appropriate solutions

• Work closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle

• Identify, analyse and evaluate risks

• Ensure compliance with Oracle business practices, policies, procedures and law

• Management of disputes / litigation

• Participate in EMEA-wide initiatives as required

• Maintain relationships with external lawyers

• Perform all other tasks that are appropriate for and required by an in-house company lawyer

3. Required Skills

• Fluency in English and Arabic, mastering of French will be a plus

• High-level legal drafting skills (English and Arabic, high level legal drafting skills in French is a plus)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Negotiation skills

• Presentation skills

• Creative thinking and problem solving

• Commercial outlook

• Ability to perform under pressure

• Develop understanding of Oracle´s products and services

• Develop understanding of Oracle’s business requirements and policies

4. Minimum job requirements

• Law degree and professional qualification. 3 years and above relevant experience.

• Experience as in-house counsel is a plus

• IT experiance is not a must but is a definite plus.

• Law Firm experience is a plus

• Driver license

• Basic computer skills in Word, Excell and PowerPoint

• Willingness to travel is a must.
