he SAN System administrator will work directly under IT Services Manager and he/she will be responsible for Bank’s system administration to ensure the day-to-day smooth running and continued development of Banks IT systems including the support of all hardware and software and maintenance of the IT systems. The System Administrator will manage and administer the bank’s computerized information system including Desktops, Servers, SAN, NAS, e-mail Servers, File & Print servers, DHCP, DNS, WINS etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Manage multiple servers, workstations, and X terminals, ensuring proper integration of these components with existing Bank’s IT systems.
b) Plan and implement system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.
c) Recommend and direct software changes and updates to keep department systems up-to-date. Monitors any software changes. Assists departments and branches with regard to program changes and operations
d) Assure system documentation by writing detailed descriptions of the system components. Supervises the training of user department personnel in the use of PC’s, terminals, printers and other peripherals. In addition to the program applications installed.
e) Provide on-call consulting advice and technical support to various users regarding specific operational/applications issues.
f) Programs specific applications in response to department/ client needs; installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current site licenses; designs, programs, and manages websites and associated pages.
g) Research evaluate, installs, configure, and troubleshoot all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives.
h) Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
i) Develop and implement various training and instruction programs for users on the use of operating systems, related networking, applications, and databases.
j) Maintain knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
k) May lead or guide the work of other junior staff engaged in similar functions.
l) Work on special projects to assist various departments, branches bank wide.
m) Be on call 24/7 if needed or in case of emergencies
n) Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
