Key Accountabilities:

Strategy

 Participates in the formulation and implementation of the production department strategy to ensure the alignment with Fonterra’s strategy

Policies & Procedures

 Participates and recommends improvements to production department policies, processes and procedures and manages the implementation to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled

Day to day Management

 Manages the day to day operations of production department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards

 Liaises with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of interactions

Specific requriements:

 Oversee the production process to ensure proper coordination to meet delivery dates.

 Oversee and monitor the production lines to ensure production targets are met with minimal waste of resources.

 Coordinate with supply chain, material planner, and sales department to plan the production timeline to ensure all sales order are produced on time. Oversees the site planning process.

 Leads the ACP program (Asset Care Program) to ensure the availability and readiness of all equipment and production lines.

 Manage the operation excellence program to ensure plant operations meet Fonterra global standards.

 Participates in daily management meeting to plan plant operation and resolve outstanding issues to ensure the efficient operations of the plant.

 Coordinate with the engineering department to ensure proper alignment of maintenance down time and production targets to meet overall Fonterra objectives.

 Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

 Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.

 Participates in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials to ensure the compliance with business needs.

Budget

 Prepares and recommends the development of production department budget, and monitors financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment

People Development

 Manages the effective achievement of department objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, providing of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and department performance

Health & Safety

• Oversees incident/accident investigation and reporting to ensure compliance with Fonterra’s health and safety standards.

 In conjunction with H&S Lead ensure that all requirements of the site H&S program and commitments to GFA are met to ensure a safe working environment.

Quality

 Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.

 Contributes to the relevant Quality process to ensure compliance with corporate and local standards.

 Oversee the Quality process to ensure compliance with Fonterra’s Standards.

 Complies with all relevant quality, procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
