This role involves making independent decisions within the approved budget and across the plant facility in terms of resources, task- execution and safety procedures and application. The boundaries extend globally across the company on a meet – needs concerning production issues and planning.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plans and directs all the resources available in the operations to assure that production goals and targets are met in terms of KPIs set, in accordance with established budgets and individual/ crew KPIs.
• Responsible for formulating and meeting annual budgets and defining of risk and contingency plans to overcome any deviation from set targets – monthly, quarterly and annually. Should be able to present the annual Business Plan along with the budget to the Board.
• Manage health, safety and environmental areas to ensure that the plant facilities operate in compliance with regulations at all levels.
• Organize and oversee training needs and procedures for employees to ensure proper training and development of all employees in operation, safety and maintenance functions.
• Appraise and coach individuals so that all team members maintain up to date skills and knowledge in order to cope with demands of the assigned tasks.
• Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, material and capital.
• Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
• Establish group/ team and individual accountabilities (KPIs) throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
• Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.
• Responsible for the product quality control for the plant by agreeing to standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.
