Media Relations Executive – ASDA'A Burson-Marsteller

To provide support to all Practice Teams on media relation aspects and task-oriented projects that requires good organizational skills and ability to work on many tasks simultaneously. This includes handling day-to-day monitoring associated with the media coverage for key clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with Practice Teams and media to communicate the client’s message

• Develop and foster relations with media houses and media personnel to encourage the necessary coverage of the clients

• Receive press releases from Practice Teams and distributes them for publication to the appropriate media entities

• Follow up with the distributed publications and press material to ensure that they are published as was required

• Plan and prepare media invitations for both client and in-house events. This includes sending the invitations to the appropriate media representatives and following up for confirmation

• Liaise between the client and media at client events. This includes fixing one-to-one interviews between client and media as and when required

• Organise and attend press conferences and other media activities for client events, in order to ensure media and coverage requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner

• Provide recommendations to the client in a proactive manner, to maximize media coverage efforts and anticipate in order to achieve business results

• Maintain and cultivate a consistent communication between the media and the agency

• Handle regular media inquiries and pass them to practice teams as and when required

• Create, maintain and regularly update media lists locally and regionally. This includes media and journalists profiles

• Contribute ideas and concepts to departmental development, in order to enhance the quality and efficiency of the work flow

• Communicate healthy and strong agency reputation to both client and media

• Carry out other related tasks as and when required

PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Arts or Mass Communication

• A Diploma or Post-graduate Degree in Public relations or mass communication is desirable

• PC skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point are essential

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 1 – 2 years experience within the fields of journalism, media or communication

• Knowledge of the region’s business environment is an advantage

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Oral and written communication skills in English

• Knowledge of Arabic is essential
