About Your Job:
In this role you will be support the logistics of the Procurement department in relation to freight movement of incoming, outgoing consignments on order and deal with any inventory control related activities. Perform professional procurement and logistics work for the freight movement service. You will be responsible to support the development of the Supply chain management in conjunction with freight forwarders ensuring that QR Group receives the goods and services within the timeframe and in acceptable standards. Implement inventory control measures to ensure the company minimises stock holding and stock system accurately. You will ensure that space will be available for QR Cargo, shipping lines and manage end to end delivery of the consignment in the most timely and economic manner.
You will be responsible to develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalising inventory and maximising available working capital. Manage and control inventory this will involve stock counting, inventory checks, minimise overstock and removal of obsolete or redundant raw materials. You will need to ensure that all incoming products are managed appropriately according to company process and procedures.
Provide routine management information on inventory performance, be able to perform cyclic stock checks, produce reports as required to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and discrepancies addressed accordingly. You will need to ensure that organisational requirement of good and services are met through an open and fair process of tender. This will involve liaising with internal and external parties including QR Cargo division and Outstations for freight movement. Negotiate with suppliers on the specifications to get the best possible solution for the business. You will need to be familiar with the local import and export laws of the GCC with understanding of the port of destination/origin.
You will need to hold a bachelor level degree or related vocational qualification. We seek to hire a candidate with minimum 5 or more years’ experience in similar role, preferable professional experience in logistics, inventory handling, or freight Forwarder Company (Air, land and sea) in a multicultural environment with a rich mix of supply partner preferably in the Airline industry. You must have knowledge of the local laws and regulations (GCC Customs Laws) with proven track records in a variety of field’s concept, practices and procedures.
You must have good IT skills in MS Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and a working knowledge or business ERP systems knowledge of the current market and price. You must have experience with Incoterms 2000, Incoterms 2010 including all Logistics terminology.
You must have excellent English, written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills (Arabic is an added advantage), must be confident in dealing with people at all different levels.. You must be able to work independently and in a team when required, follow office management principles, practices and procedures (strong commitment in confidentiality, integrity and ethics).
You must have managerial skills, ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow with strong mentoring and coaching skills.
