Follows all relevant section policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Follows the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the Instrument Workshop Section to ensure continuity of work.
Monitors the physical condition of electronic and pneumatic control system instruments that come for maintenance, checks for physical cracks, wear & tear etc., report abnormalities in order to facilitate effective maintenance of all KJO facilities as per set Quality/ HSE standards.
Cleans non production areas under on a regular basis to ensure that debris is disposed of in a timely manner and health and safety risks are minimised.
Informs Foreman of completion of tasks and ensures work areas are cleaned & tools/equipments are rearranged as per set standards and procedures after maintenance activity.
Attends toolbox meeting to discuss maintenance priorities; receives instructions from Forman on maintenance tasks and obtains the necessary materials, tools and equipment to facilitate timely completion of operation as per given instructions & Health, Safety & Environment standards.
Carries out control room inspections, checks alarm points, identifying equipment problems and comparing control room and field indicators.
Carries out breakdown maintenance or “special” or demand” checks as required by PRD, and diassembles instruments, cleans/replaces parts or components, reassembles/replaces cards, calibrates and tests serviced instruments to ensure proper operation. Reports all serious malfunctions immediately to Foreman for his advice and direction.
Receives repair work orders and carries out repairs to instrumentation equipment and systems including determining faults, replacing or repairing faulty components on PCBs or replacing the card as required; checks untoward readings on controllers and transmitters and advises production of non-instrument related problems. Assists in minor overhauls of various instruments in the workshop, repairing, checking, replacing and recalibrating equipment parts. Carries out “run-up” and “zero” checks on equipment and ensures all equipment is working.
Carries out preventive maintenance on analysers in accordance with maintenance schedule, such as replacing cylinders for span, carrier or zero gas completes brief work reports giving details of work performed.
Assists in the on-site implementation of improvement/expansion projects on field instrumentation and control system equipment. Includes assisting engineers on-site, carrying out actual installation, connection and configuration and running tests on equipment prior to handover.
Participates and supports tasks conducted by contractor staff and facilitates timely completion of scheduled tasks as per required Quality/HSE standards.
Reports and explains to foreman on work progress and problems encountered on the job assignment.
Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed by Superiors.
