Engineering Manager (Maintenance) – Fonterra Brands Middle East

JOB PURPOSE:

Plan, manage and oversee the maintenance process to ensure the readiness of equipment and production lines to meet Fonterra production targets. Manage capital projects as directed to ensure that they are delivered on time on budget and meet expectation.

Strategy

 Participates in the formulation and implementation of the engineering & project management department strategy to ensure the alignment with Fonterra’s strategy

Policies & Procedures

 Participates and recommends improvements to engineering & project management department policies, processes and procedures and manages the implementation to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled

Day to day Management

 Manages the day to day operations of engineering & project management department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards

 Liaises with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of interactions

Job Specific Accountabilities

 Plans, schedules and assigns resources for maintenance work, preventative and emergency, on all Fonterra equipment and production line to ensure availability and efficiency of the equipment to meet production targets.

 Oversees and monitors the operation of Fonterra operating utilities, and coordinate the maintenance work to ensure proper operation of the equipment to provide the required support to the production process.

 Participates in the procurement process for engineering parts to ensure the correct selection of the required parts for the equipment to minimize down time and maximize production time.

 Manages, coordinates, and monitors Fonterra civil work by scheduling and QA the work to ensure the readiness, cleanness and safety of Fonterra facilities.

 Participates in PTW process as required by procedures ensure safety standards are met according to Fonterra’s standards,

 Specific responsibilities within ISO standards such as Calibration ISO certification process to ensure Fonterra meets ISO requirements.

 Participates in troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues to ensure equipment availability and minimized production down time.

 Participates in daily management meeting to plan plant operation and resolve outstanding issues to ensure the efficient operations of the plant

 Participates as a team member in the ACP program (Asset Care Program) to ensure the availability and readiness of all equipment and production lines.

 Plans and manages special engineering projects to ensure the effective and on time delivery of the project to increase the efficiency of the plant and to meet Fonterra overall plans and objectives.

Budget

 Prepares and recommends the development of engineering & project management department budget, and monitors financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment

People Development

 Manages the effective achievement of department objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, providing of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and department performance

Quality

 Implement Quality process and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and local standards.

 Complies with all quality process and procedure to ensure top notch quality is maintained.

Health & Safety

• Oversees incident/accident investigation and reporting to ensure compliance with Fonterra’s health and safety standards.

 In conjunction with H&S Lead ensure that all requirements of the site H&S program and commitments to GFA are met to ensure a safe working environment.

Safety, Quality & Environment

 Complies with all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
