This position is ideally suited to someone with team leader, workshop foreman or assistant manager experience. Must be self motivated and willing to work as part of a team and under own initiative when required to do so. Must be a good communicator at all levels and able to motivate other team members in achieving targets set by the company and our principals.
Must have hands on approach to solving daily technical issues in a clear, concise & methodical way. Be able to lead by example and be ready to offer leadership to other team members. Daily activities will include arranging the daily working schedules with the workshop foreman. Follow up with both internal departments & end users for both technical & parts related issues. Dealing with the principals in regards to product related issues including warranty, technical problems and training requirements.
Understanding of how the budgeting and cost related activities work in order to maintain a profitable operation. Financial planning in regards to the monthly target and how to achieve it are required in order to streamline our daily operations. Understanding Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in order to monitor not only the operations but, to monitor the performance of the engineers. This will help in evaluating them for future training in areas where needed.
Experience of electrical and mechanical fork trucks is a must.
Experience on warehouse trucks, counter balance truck and pallet truck is a must and VNA trucks a definite advantage.
Must be fully conversant with electrical & electronic components such as, converters, inverters, controllers and motors etc.
Must also have experience in hydraulic components such as pumps, motors, hydraulic cylinders & valves along with some level of engine repair & maintenance knowledge.
Must be able to read electrical schematics sets in order to carry out diagnostic works. Must also be computer literate to work with manufacturers online diagnostic tools for all types of repair and calibration procedures.
An understanding of the manufacturer’s operational requirements and warranty procedures is preferred but not essential. Training will be given where needed.
Must be willing to travel into Europe for training at the manufacturer’s factory for updates and new model releases.
